Bully

So I had planned on going with my neighbor Gwen to Mr. Armadillo's which is an indoor park for toddlers but I ended up not getting done in time. Instead I took the boys to a McDonalds playland instead. This was a seriously busy Mickie dees and there were plenty of kids for them to play with. Then this kid and his Grandma came in and this was one of those kids you could just look at and see he was trouble. Poor kid was pawned off on his grandma with no discipline or example. So as soon as he and Cody were in the playland tunnel at the same time I was ready. I could see from their necks down and I saw this kid grab Cody by the neck of his shirt and start punching with his other hand fisted. Did I mention this kid was about 5 years old and weighed at least 60 pounds. By the time I got there Cody had screamed loud enough to scare the bully off. So I walked Cody away and we were doing something else. The grandma has done nothing at this point. So a little bit later Tanner was in a different tunnel and I saw the bully head over there and as soon as he got in the tunnel Tanner started screaming and another lady with a better view yelled that he was kicking Tanner. So this time just reacted. I pulled Tanner out with one hand and the bully out with the other and I didn't let go until I was done telling him (ok yelling at him) that he had hit both of my kids and that was enough he'd better go somewhere else. Finally the grandma comes over but the kid had taken off and she tells me some song and dance about his ADHD and his poor parents. Needless to say my kids were done playing and I just sat there cooling off. She chats me up instead of taking her grandson home and finally I gave up and went inside to order. When we came back out with our food another little girl Tanners age was crying and the grandma finally told the bully they were leaving. As she's getting their stuff her attitude totally changes back to telling him they were going to the dollar store and getting him a toy. She did this so he would cooperate with her enough to get his butt in the car. After they left the little girl was still sobbing and I asked if he hit her and the mom said yes....she was almost in tears along with her daughter. I still can't believe some people are allowed to reproduce! I don't know how well I'm gonna handle the boys going to school in a few years when there will for sure be bullies to deal with, but you can bet I'll figure it out!

  1. Wow Stacy! You handled that better than I would have! I would have been tempted to deck the kid, better yet send Narissa after him. ; ) I don't understand why parents think ADHD is an excuse for kids to act like maniacs.
