Pine Island

Waiting for Dad to change

So yesterday we got our to do list done early and decided to drive out to a place we heard about. Pine Island is about 15 minuets away and it's a great family beach. There is a place to eat or park areas with grills to cook yourself. There are nice restrooms and dressing rooms which I learned is necessary because the sand and salt is so itchy on the car ride home! It's called Pine Island because the coast is pine forest and then the Island seems like its a man-made beach with the built up part reaching out to the ocean. It's a really neat place that makes you feel like you've found a hidden park. There weren't a ton of people there when we went which was nice. As we were leaving we saw a part that was empty and the we saw the sign that said "Alligator sighted, this area closed" Oh that's nice to know now. But at least they tell you. At Clear water last weekend there was a sign that said "Sting Rays sighted, Shuffle your feet" Um ya I don't think my feet will even be getting wet. I know I'm a chicken but I did get in and tried not to think about it. Luckily the water is clear and you can see the bottom, that doesn't change the fact that when a sea oat floats by my leg I freak out and run to the shore! There are always little fish in the water where I am because I won't go in the deep part and these little guys won't either because they might get eaten, so anyways at Pine Island a kid caught some "Needle Fish" and were showing them to us. Cody is not obsessed with catching them too. In the tub last night he told me he caught one and put it in the whir pool jet for later!
Today we found the meetinghouse and actually made it to Church in time. There are some really nice people, the RS President came up and talked and the Bishop, and the Clerk, and some other people whom I'm sure are scouting out all new people to give callings to. We did run out early because the boys were being down right terrors. So for now no callings! Darn! Josh got a call back yesterday about a job. he has an interview next month with a stadium in Tampa to be a baseball umpire! It pays really good and they do all the training so looks like I will soon be married to an Umpire...crazy. I told him that I predict he throws a lot of coaches out hehe! Keeping our fingers crossed. So all is well here, were officially becoming beach bums,
