Giving Thanks

So we had a great trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving. We left home at 4am to make it to Tampa. We made it to the airport smoothly and even the parking was easy. Security was a breeze so the news on TV must have been a bluff. A walk thru metal detectors and we were outta there, well, actually, take off all sweaters, backpacks, shoes, belts, and jewelry. Then take out all the DVD players from the bags and load all "junk" into the bins then walk thru metal detectors with two screaming kids and then redress and repack, but other than that a breeze, no x-rays or pats downs!
We got to hang out at the gate for a good hour before we got on the plane, Tanner decided to bang the tray table up and down and then kick the seats when I made him stop. The people in front of me were not very nice either. When kicking didn't work he resorted to screaming, mind you I had lugged a huge bag full of toys, treats and movies, and he was interested in none of this. Finally he slept for a half hour then was up and at it again. By this time I am bribing Josh for just about anything to agree to take Tanner on the flight home. Cody enjoyed the flight, watching the movies, and out the window. Once safely landed in Phoenix we met Gary and Sammie and headed to my Grandma Chambers since they had a meeting to go to. We were almost there when we were rear ended and had to wait for the police to investigate the fender bender. Finally off again. We had a good visit with grandma and appreciate her taking off work to see us. Crazy lady is almost 80 and still works full time. The kids were wound up and didn't sit still long enough to really visit with her but it was still nice. Thanks again for the birthday gifts, they got alot of use already! So the next day was Thanksgiving and we spent it at Aunt Tigers (Sammies sister) There was alot of family there and we all had a great time, eating, visiting, playing ping pong, pool, and football. The kids had so much fun with all the cousins. The next day we headed to RV and got to see the new colors on the Dome, it was trying to snow the whole time we were there so the kids got to see that. Saturday we had a little birthday party for Cody at my Mom's. He loved all of the decorations, and games she had set up! And even a cake with his picture on it just like he wanted. Got to see most of my family and that was great. That night the boys both decided to get sick over and over and we ended up having to wash all of Sammie's blankets and sheets, but eventually they fell asleep and were fine after that. Sunday we had another small dinner with Josh's family then headed back to Phoenix for the flight home. The Holiday trip flew by too fast and after some tears we were back on the plane headed for Florida. So I managed to talk Josh into taking Tanner this time and the little stinker slept the entire way! It was nice to see the sun shining on the water from the plane as we came into Tampa and I realized I really do love it here. Especially when we walked out of the airport and the warm, wet air blew by. I was not made for the cold, dry AZ weather.
Anyhow, we are thankful for smooth flights and chance to see everyone back home. Mostly we are thankful to have such a great group of friends and family. We miss you all already.
PS Our internet card broke somehow so I will have to post pics later when I can use my desktop.
